Important notice – Visa applications

If you hold a Montenegro national passport, you do not require a visa to travel to Serbia and may stay in Serbia no more than 90 days within a 6 month period.

The state border can be crossed with passport or with ID.

If you have passport UK, Schengen, US resident permit (visa) you can enter Serbia without applying for Serbian visa

At its meeting of 30 October 2014, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Decision on visa free entry to the Republic of Serbia for holders of foreign passports having a valid Schengen, UK and other Member States' visa, or visa of the United States of America, and for holders of foreign passports having residence permit in the countries of the Schengen area, EU or the United States of America, which was published in the "Official Gazette of RS", No. 119 of 31 October 2014 and which will enter into force on 8 November 2014.

Applying for Visas


Visas can be requested by submitting an application to the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Herceg Novi. Please be advised that visa processing time is 30 days. Thus, we would appreciate if you could plan your forthcoming trip to Serbia accordingly.

The new Law on Foreigners of the Republic of Serbia has entered into force on 3 October 2018. The full text of the Law may be found on the web site of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia

You may apply for one of the following visas:
1) Short Stay Visa (Visa C)
2) Long Stay Visa (Visa D)

Please be advised that as of 3 October 2018, we will no longer be issuing B visas (Transit visas). If you plan to transit through Serbia and you do require a visa, you ought to apply for a C visa. Please contact the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Herceg Novi for additional information.


VISA C:


Short-stay visas are mainly issued for private visits, tourism, business as well as other travelling needs You may apply for a single, double or for multiple entries into the Republic of Serbia.

The duration of an uninterrupted stay, and/or the total duration of successive visits of an alien with a short-stay visa must not exceed 90 days within a period of six months which began on the day of the first entry.

VISA C REQUIREMENTS:
 

for a private visit - invitation letter certified by the relevant authority of the Republic of Serbia

or a business visit - invitation from   by a company in Serbia stating nature of the business and expected duration of the visit, as well as a letter from a company which you are representing

  1. Valid passport (passport must be valid at least 90 days from issue date of visa)
  2. Photo (Size 3,5 x 4,5 cm)
  3. Completed visa application form
  4. Invitation letter
  5. Proof of stay in Montenegro - stay permit, visa (if you are not residing in your native country)
  6. Letter from Employer
  7. Return ticket or Itinerary (copy of International Driving License, Title and  Insurance if you travel by car)
  8. Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia
  9. Health insurance

The Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Herceg Novi reserves the right to request additional documentation.
Incomplete applications will not be taken into account.
 

VISA D:


If you intend to stay in Serbia for more than 90 days within a 6 month period, you must apply for a D visa (long stay visa). If you intend to apply for residence permit in Serbia, you ought to apply for D visa prior to your intended trip. Please contact the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Herceg Novi for additional information on how to apply and advice on the purpose of your forthcoming stay in Serbia.


Visa processing times are at least 30 days.

You may apply for a visa no earlier than 3 months before your intended trip.

There is no priority service when applying for visas.

Your travel document / passport needs to be valid at least 90 days on the day you exit Serbia.

You ought to have at least 2 empty pages in your travel document / passport.
Remark:

Applications are subject to decision by competent authorities in the Republic of Serbia and do not mean that visas will be granted. Furthermore, please be reminded that issued visas do not guarantee entry into Serbia. Entry is subject to additional approval by the Ministry interior affairs - Border Police.
