Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said at the New Year's press conference that Belgrade expected that Montenegro would change its decision to expel Serbian Ambassador in Podgorica Vladimir Božović and that it will wait a while longer to see what will be decided.

The President said that many have expected that Montenegro, after the changes in its government, would also change its decision concerning the independence of Kosovo and Priština, but that he personally did not share this expectation.

"Everything is in line with what I expected", President Vučić said.

He said that Belgrade will endeavour to build friendly and brotherly relations with all citizens of Montenegro and any government in that country, while upholding the interests of our country and people.

President Vučić said that Belgrade does not interfere in internal affairs of other countries, that it respects the independence and sovereignty of Montenegro with no meddling in the work of their government, and that all Serbia cares about is Montenegro's conduct towards Serbia and the Serbian people.

"I have seen and heard throughout the region, but also in Serbia, many a hero telling heroic tall tales from Kosovo, but in the end, an alleged traitor, one Aleksandar Vučić turned out to be the only one refusing to recognize the independence of Kosovo. But this is something normal and to be expected from a President of Serbia", Vučić said.
